Is New York Congressman Steve Israel Trying to Win the Support of Terrorists?
What exactly was New York Congressman Steve Israel thinking last night when he voted twice to ease the security around known terrorists? First, he voted for an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would close the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay and allow the transfer of terror suspects to the United States and potentially into our civilian justice system.
Moments later, Israel voted on another amendment to allow the release of detainees from Guantanamo Bay into the Unites States, Yemen, or another combat zone. (Because what could possibly go wrong with releasing a known terrorist into a combat zone filled with fellow terrorists who are armed with weapons?)
