Middle East guru Annie Kuster just doesn’t get it
Annie “I’m not here to talk about Benghazi, I’m here to talk about the Middle East” Kuster continues to demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding when it comes to the threat of terrorism. Her latest head-scratcher came last night when she voted to cut off funding to support, train, and equip the Iraqi military and Kurdish forces in the fight against ISIS. While Kuster was regrettably one of only 56 to support the measure, 375 realized how foolish of a plan this was and voted to kill it, 375 to 56.
But it gets worse. Kuster also voted last night on three separate occasions to bring known terrorists from Guantanamo Bay back onto U.S. soil, back to their country of origin, or flat-out release them. This is the sixth time in four weeks that Kuster has voted to do this. That begs the question — what exactly is Kuster thinking when it comes to the threat of terrorism?
NRCC Comment: “Not only did Annie Kuster vote to transfer known terrorists onto U.S. soil, but she also voted to cut off funding to those battling ISIS overseas. Kuster’s ongoing refusal to get serious about the threat of terrorism should be extremely concerning to the people of the Granite State.” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
