Pete Gallego’s cash flow issues
According to the Texas Tribune, Pete Gallego, a former member running in TX-23, raised a paltry $224,000 in his first quarter as Congressional candidate and has only $174,000 cash on hand.
Gallego’s numbers look even worse when you compare them to Congressman Will Hurd’s $458,000 quarter and $685,000 cash on hand. In fact, Hurd’s cash on hand is more than double what Gallego’s was this time last cycle when Gallego was in office.
National Democrats who touted Gallego as a top recruit might be rethinking their enthusiasm after seeing these numbers. Clearly 23rd District voters have little enthusiasm of their own for Gallego’s candidacy if he can only raise $224,000 in his first quarter in the race.
