NRCC accepts Collin Peterson’s challenge
July 20, 2015
This weekend, Collin Peterson engaged in some pretty serious sabre rattling, bragging to The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead that “I don’t think I’d need to spend a nickel to get elected” in 2016.
We here at the NRCC formally accept Mr. Peterson’s challenge.
Unless Peterson flip flops, this means Peterson For Congress won’t spend a “nickel” on campaign staff, yard signs, television advertising, or anything else until November 9, 2016. If Peterson is so confident in his reelection prospects, he should also call on Democratic outside groups to spend their funds elsewhere in Democrats’ nearly impossible task of winning a House majority.
Game on, Collin.
“It’s time for Collin Peterson to put his money where his mouth is and lock down his campaign bank account. If Peterson is so ready to take the voters of the 7th District for granted, he needs to walk the walk, not just talk the talk.” – NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
