Ami Bera: batting .000

Here’s your number for the day: 0%. That’s Ami Bera’s effectiveness ranking, according to a new study by InsideGov that looked at how many bills Bera has had passed out committee since being elected. Bera’s dismal 0% ranking puts him at the bottom of the Congressional class and earns him the dubious honor as one of the least effective members of Congress.

So what do you do when you’ve accomplished nothing as a member of Congress? Maybe you run hypocritical campaign ads and subsequently get called out by the LA Times for it. Or perhaps your lack of a political center causes you to copy White House talking points in an op-ed you publish as your own. Or you even copy Nancy Pelosi’s words in another column. It’s clear Ami Bera has done little more than talk since getting elected, and he’s even run into trouble with that.
