Does Kyrsten Sinema Want to Give ISIS a Break?
President Barack Obama has vetoed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a vital bill that authorizes funding for our national defense, but Kyrsten Sinema has yet to make a peep in protest. If Kyrsten Sinema does not stand up to the President’s veto, our allies battling ISIS could lose vital security assistance, leaving ISIS free to expand.
“By staying silent while President Obama plays politics with our national security, Kyrsten Sinema is opening the door to a more unstable Middle East,” said NRCC Communications Director Katie Martin. “Kyrsten Sinema needs to put politics aside and override President Obama’s dangerous veto of this bill.”
The NDAA is critical in ensuring that the men and women of our military and their families receive the funding they have rightfully earned. The bill also includes a provision authorizing funding for vital security assistance to Iraqi, Syrian, and Jordanian forces fighting ISIS.
The NDAA passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 270 to 156. It passed the Senate by a vote of 70 to 27. |
