The IL-10 Dem Primary Is About To Get Ugly

fightWith Sen. Dick Durbin’s announcement that he will back Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering in IL-10, Democrats’ worst fears about an expensive and bloody primary there are coming true. With Durbin in Rotering’s corner and Nancy Pelosi and the DCCC in Schneider’s, the infighting among Democrats has inevitably led to a primary that will leave the eventual survivor limping into the general election.

While Democrats spend vital resources battling each other, Congressman Bob Dold will continue his independent leadership while also adding to his already impressive war chest. The eventual Democratic nominee will emerge bloodied and broke in the expensive Chicago media market with an uphill climb to November.
