Did Bryan Caforio Commit Mortgage Fraud By Running For Congress?
New reports on Bryan Caforio’s carpetbagging into CA-25 reveal that Caforio may have committed mortgage fraud by moving out of his LA home to run for Congress within a year of signing his mortgage. From the Antelope Valley Press:
“The $767,200 mortgage deed, which was notarized and filed May 19 with the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder’s Office, said Caforio and his wife, Lisa, are required to occupy the home in Los Angeles’ Fairfax District for a minimum of a year.”
Caforio’s mortgage was notarized on May 19th, 2015 and he registered to vote in CA-25 just six months later on November 29th, 2015, according to local officials.
According to mortgage experts, “Violating your occupancy clause is a form of mortgage fraud.”
Was Caforio in such a hurry to run for Congress that he did not fulfill the terms of his mortgage and committed mortgage fraud?
