Ami Bera Facing Multiple FEC Complaints

After weeks of terrible press surrounding an increasingly wide-ranging campaign finance scandal, McClatchy DC is reporting that Ami Bera now faces multiple FEC complaints. From the piece:

“In May, an accountability group and Lori VanHamersveld, a Sacramento Republican, filed separate Federal Election Commission complaints that allege Bera mishandled campaign money and took part in “an intricate donor swap shell game.”

The accountability group referenced is the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT DC), who, according to their website, is a “nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting accountability, ethics, and transparency in government and civic arenas.”

Bera’s laughable claims of ignorance will continue to come under increasing scrutiny as new facts come to light from the ongoing federal investigation and contradictions (here and here and here) in Bera’s statements to the press.
