Democrats have a big problem in New Hampshire

June 9, 2016

oh noDemocrats have quite the problem on their hands in NH-01 now that self-financer Shawn O’Connor is changing his party affiliation to run as an independent.  That means Democrats will have an alternative choice to political retread, Carol Shea-Porter in November.

With O’Connor pledging to self-finance his campaign with at least $1 million, it all but assures splitting the Democratic ticket in November. This cannot be welcome news for Washington Democrats who need to win virtually every competitive seat in the entire country to even get a sniff of the Majority this November.

NRCC Comment: “Shawn O’Connor self-financing his campaign for Congress as an independent is very bad news for Democrats hoping to take back New Hampshire’s 1st District.  This is just another example of the math not adding up for Democrats who think the House is in play this November.” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
