Ruben Kihuen’s support of the Iran Deal takes another hit

August 15, 2016

Kihuen iranAs a lifetime partisan, Ruben Kihuen has always been happy to toe the party line and do what Democrat leaders ask of him, including supporting the dangerous nuclear deal with Iran. But now, multiple high-ranking Democrats have put Kihuen in a tough spot by admitting the deal could end up funding terrorism.

In a televised debate yesterday, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz refused to rule out that the deal could fund attacks on Israel, saying , “you cannot guarantee anything.”  Earlier this year, Secretary of State John Kerry admitted that some sanctions relief would likely go to terrorists. But despite these warnings, Kihuen still supports this dangerous deal, putting partisan politics ahead of the safety and security of 4th District families.

NRCC Comment: “Ruben Kihuen’s fervent support of the dangerous nuclear deal with Iran only further shows that he will put party politics ahead of all else, including the safety and security of 4th District families. Even with top Democrats admitting that the deal could fund terrorism, Kihuen continues to steadfastly support this bad deal.” –NRCC Spokesman Zach Hunter
