John Delaney’s dream comes true; 15 GITMO detainees transferred

August 16, 2016

Yesterday, the Obama Administration transferred 15 terrorists held at GITMO to the United Arab Emirates, a policy John Delaney enthusiastically voted for at least 8 times.  This is the largest single transfer of detainees since President Obama took office.

This transfer comes just two months after revelations that at least a dozen terrorists previously released from GITMO had subsequently launched attacks against U.S. or allied forces, resulting in the deaths of a half-dozen Americans. These warnings don’t seem to faze John Delaney though, who continues to fall in line with his fellow House Democrats by backing the dangerous plan.

NRCC Comment: “John Delaney has been a staunch supporter of President Obama’s dangerous plan to transfer GITMO detainees, voting multiple times in support of the policy and to outright close the detention center.  Maryland families deserve better than John Delaney, who would rather score brownie points with Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton than work to keep his constituents safe.” -NRCC Spokesperson Camille Gallo
