NRCC Weekly Rundown: NRCC announces latest round of Young Guns, secret agreement by Obama administration weakened Iran nuclear deal, deceptive House Majority PAC ad pulled, and more!

run-down

And here’s this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:

National: The NRCC announced its latest rounds of Young Guns candidates this week. The newest additions to the top tier of the program include Paul Babeu (AZ-01), Brian Mast (FL-18), Jack Bergman (MI-01), Jason Lewis (MN-02), Claudia Tenney (NY-22), and Mike Gallagher (WI-08).

National: The DCCC added another primary loss to its wide array of recruiting failures this week, as Annette Taddeo went down in flames in South Florida. The NRCC looked back at some of the worst failures by our Democratic counterparts this cycle.

National: A new report showed that the Obama administration’s Iran Deal was even weaker than originally thought, as Obama agreed in secret to grant exemptions to key restrictions on Iran’s uranium stockpiles to ensure the country was compliant by the original deadline. Despite the numerous revelations into how dangerous the Iran Deal really is, it is still supported by Democrats, including Morgan Carroll, Steve Santarsiero, Brad Schneider, Raul Ruiz, John Delaney, Pete Aguilar, and Rick Nolan.

CO-06: Morgan Carroll has refused to participate in a debate sponsored by Colorado’s largest newspaper, The Denver Post. Perhaps Carroll is hoping that she can lay low and hide her extreme liberal record from voters.

FL-26: The DCCC took a big hit this week as their preferred candidate, Annette Taddeo, lost to everyone’s favorite crook, former Congressman Joe Garcia in their primary. The DCCC went all in for Taddeo, drawing the ire of many of Garcia’s former Democrat colleagues.

Minnesota: Health insurance plans submitted Obamacare premium increases of 50% or more that will hit thousands of Minnesotans in 2017. The NRCC asked if Rick Nolan and Angie Craig would drop their support for the disastrous law and stand up for Minnesota families.

MN-02: Angie Craig has been stepping up her outreach to senior citizens and veterans. This makes sense given her company’s awful record on both, having paid multimillion dollar settlements for ripping off veterans and selling defective medical devices that resulted in multiple patient deaths.

MN-08: A Twin Cities TV station pulled an attack ad from Nancy Pelosi’s House Majority PAC off the air due to the deceptively edited video and outright lies that it contained. Where was Super PAC critic Rick Nolan during this? Nowhere to be found.

NE-02: The NRCC went on the air with a new ad highlighting Brad Ashford’s support for sanctuary cities, which is far out of step with his conservative district. Meanwhile, Ashford is doing his best to pretend that he’s not a Democrat, refusing to campaign with Hillary Clinton, despite being the co-chair of her Nebraska campaign.

NY-19: The NRCC continued its series: “Zephyr Teachout the pandering Super-PAC hypocrite” with volumes three, four, five, six, and seven, detailing her donations from the Super PAC millionaires and billionaires she pretends to oppose.

PA-08: The first general election debate for the 8th District happened this week, and the NRCC took the opportunity to preemptively debunk the nonsense that Steve Santarsiero went on to spout while dishonestly attacking Brian Fitzpatrick and inflating his own accomplishments.

NEWS AND NOTES:

House Republicans find success separating from Trump

House Democrats’ and the DCCC’s strategy of running a single note, one-size-fits-all campaign is failing, and is just another example of how out of touch they are and why they will continue to flounder in the minority,” Katie Martin, spokeswoman for the NRCC told CNN. She added: “Voters have seen firsthand that their Republican member of Congress has their back, and they will reward that hard work this fall.” READ
