John Delaney to constituents: this never happened
September 7, 2016
John Delaney must be hoping his constituents will suddenly get amnesia. He laughably told Bethesda Magazine that he is not using his current job as a stepping stone to the Governor’s mansion or other higher political offices.
But let’s take a trip down memory lane and review his behavior:
- In 2014, he waited until the very last week to announce his re-election amid rumors that he would run for Governor.
- Early last year when Sen. Mikulski announced her retirement, John Delaney quickly said he was considering running for her seat.
- Back in March, he drove a mobile billboard around the Maryland State House attacking Governor Larry Hogan.
- A few months ago he shopped his resume around for the Governorship at the Maryland Association of Counties, right after wining and dining Democratic Party leaders at the DNC.
So, does this look like someone who is perfectly content in their current job?
