FACT CHECK on Steve Santarsiero’s latest ad

Steve Santarsiero has been such a lousy, do-nothing legislator that he’s once again lying in his campaign ads. In his latest ad, Santarsiero says he refused perks. He also touts legislative victories as a Harrisburg politician that never happened.

Car Perks – Santarsiero says he turned down the perk of a state car. What he fails to mention is he chose (Exhibit A) to instead have taxpayers reimburse him $24,689 for mileage (Exhibit B).

Hotel Perks – Santarsiero billed taxpayers $24,290 for hotel reimbursements (Exhibit C).

Food Perks – Santarsiero billed taxpayers at least $806.88 in food reimbursements (Exhibit D).

Legislative Accomplishments – Santarsiero never had a single piece of legislation signed into law in his 7-plus years in office (Exhibit E).
