The DCCC is on the air with a new ad that contains attacks on Republican Stewart Mills so misleading, that previous ads featuring them have already been pulled from the air by three Minnesota television stations.

The ad intentionally misquotes a Mills statement made regarding his family business’s contributions to the local community, and misrepresents his position on taxes by pointing to a years old analysis of a tax plan that he has never so much indicated that he supports.

The new DCCC ad echoes previous TV spots from Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC, House Majority PAC, from both 2014 and last month. The 2014 ad was pulled from the air by two TV stations after being debunked by fact checkers. Last month, the group aired another ad recycling its old attacks. That ad was also pulled by a Twin Cities TV station for its baseless attacks. The DCCC’s tax argument has likewise previously been declared “misleading at best” by Minnesota Public Radio.

NRCC Comment: “Democrats are so desperate to distract 8th District voters from Rick Nolan’s dangerous, extreme record on national security that they are recycling old attacks that are so deceptive, they have resulted in three TV stations refusing to air them. The DCCC knows that Rick Nolan’s out-of-touch record in Congress is such a liability that they are willing to push previously debunked lies to change the subject.” – NRCC Spokesman Bob Salera
