Angie Craig has made up her mind to back Pelosi for Speaker

Angie Craig has made the odd decision to make Nancy Pelosi’s support for her a centerpiece of her campaign.

Over the weekend, Pelosi sent a fundraising email on Angie Craig’s behalf, warning donors that Craig’s race was a “highly competitive toss up” and that Craig was “dangerously behind her fundraising goal.” News then broke that Craig was bringing Nancy Pelosi to Minneapolis for a joint appearance at a fundraising event in October.

This is a break from her previous statements on Pelosi. Earlier this month, when asked whether she would back Nancy Pelosi for Speaker, Craig told the Washington Post’s Dave Weigel that, “My mind would be open.” Well, over the past few weeks Craig made up her mind that she would choose Nancy Pelosi’s fundraising prowess over the best interests of the 2^nd District, where Pelosi remains toxic.
