run-down

And here’s this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:

NEW TV ADS:

CA-24: The NRCC’s new ad exposes Salud Carbajal’s tax hike hypocrisy. Carbajal has repeatedly supported raising taxes, but has been hit with three federal tax liens for failing to pay his own taxes.

FL-18: The NRCC is on the air with a new ad, contrasting Brian Mast’s career of service to our country with Randy Perkins’ record of sleaze, making millions off of grief-stricken victims of natural disasters.

FL-26: The NRCC is out with a new TV ad and radio ad highlighting Joe Garcia’s embarrassing behavior. From election fraud, to campaign payoffs, to boneheaded comments, Garcia has embarrassed South Florida long enough.

IA-01: The new ad from the NRCC exposes Monica Vernon’s history of taking taxpayer funded pay raises for herself, and doling out deals for developers who donated to her campaigns. It pays to be Monica Vernon!

IL-10: A new NRCC ad highlights Brad Schneider’s support for the dangerous Iran nuclear deal. The deal gives the world’s leading state sponsor of terror $150 billion in sanctions relief, but Schneider supports it 100%.

ME-02: A new TV ad and radio ad showcase another of Emily Cain’s extreme policies. This time, the focus is on Emily Cain’s sponsorship of a bill to force public schools to weigh its students, including teenage girls, and report the data to the government.

MI-01: The NRCC’s new TV ad exposes Lon Johnson’s latest act, as he poses with a gun despite supporting Obama’s radical gun control agenda.

NE-02: A new ad from the NRCC highlights Brad Ashford’s reckless votes to allow the release of terrorists from GITMO back to the battlefield.

NY-03: The NRCC’s new ad re-introduces Long Island voters to Taxin’ Tom Suozzi. The ad reminds voters that Suozzi raised taxes by hundreds of millions of dollars during his disastrous tenures as Nassau County Executive and Mayor of Glen Cove.

NY-22: In a new ad, the NRCC exposes multi-millionaires Kim Myers and Martin Babinec for their track record of outsourcing Upstate New York jobs.

PA-08: The NRCC is on the air with a new ad exposing Steve Santarsiero’s consistent votes in favor of higher taxes for middle class families.

WI-08: The NRCC’s new ad targets Tom Nelson for his record of raising taxes and fees while accepting a taxpayer funded pay raise for himself during a financial crisis.

OTHER ITEMS:

National: A new round of co-op failures has analysts discussing whether Obamacare has entered a “death spiral. 17 of the original 23 Obamacare co-ops have now failed, leaving more than 800,000 members without a health insurance plan.

National: House Democrats like Ami Bera, once again stood with the disastrous Iran nuclear deal over national security. House Democrats opposed two bills aimed at preventing sanctions relief funds from making their way to terrorist groups, and prohibiting future ransom payments to Iran.

CA-24: Salud Carbajal was called out at a public meeting in Lompoc for calling the community the “armpit” of Santa Barbara County. He previously faced protests at his campaign office before Carbajal sent a staffer to apologize.

CA-36: Raul Ruiz outdid himself with his disrespectful remark to a Navajo elected official. Ruiz referred to San Juan County Commissioner Rebecca Benally as a “token” spokesperson for her nation. The NRCC called on Ruiz to apologize.

CO-06: A Denver Post editor commented on the Sixth District race, stating the obvious, that Morgan Carroll’s campaign is “struggling.”

IL-10: As a series of candidate forums began in IL-10, the NRCC suggested some questions that Brad Schneider needs to answer on issues like his flip-flop on the Iran nuclear deal, his refusal to release personal financial information, and his rebuke by the Human Rights Campaign for false attacks in his ads.

MD-06: John Delaney  voted this week to continue fining families who lose health insurance due to the midyear failure of an Obamacare co-op. Delaney’s support, at all costs, for Obamacare comes even as Maryland regulators announced that Obamacare will drive the cost of health insurance up by 20% or more next year.

MN-02: Washington liberals are rallying around their handpicked candidate, Angie Craig. A Soros-backed Super PAC announced its plans to air ads attacking Jason Lewis, and Nancy Pelosi made plans to head to Minneapolis to campaign on Craig’s behalf.

MN-03: Terri Bonoff’s campaign took a major blow this week as Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC pulled its money out of the race. House Majority PAC was to begin airing ads on Bonoff’s behalf in October, but decided to pull the money out of Minnesota. Apparently Bonoff’s embrace of Pelosi for Speaker wasn’t enough to keep her Super PAC in the race.

MN-08: Rick Nolan had what has become his average week. Nolan lied to reporters in Minnesota about his record of voting to increase his own pay as recently as June, then headed back to Washington to vote to fine families who lose their health insurance through no fault of their own.

NE-02: Blue Cross ran from Nebraska due to Obamacare, as Brad Ashford ran from his support for Obamacare this week. Ashford also told a reporter that he’ll vote for Nancy Pelosi for speaker no matter what, even if he doesn’t agree with her on anything.

NV-04: The FBI recently began subpoenaing records in their case involving Las Vegas City Councilman Ricki Barlow and the Ramirez group, the company at which Ruben Kihuen is a principal. Kihuen has been frantically trying to distance himself from Barlow, who previously was prominently featured in Kihuen’s campaign. Perhaps the investigation will bring details of their relationship to light.

NY-19: An anti-Super-PAC Super PAC is airing Super PAC ads on behalf of Super PAC hypocrite Zephyr Teachout. The ad uses B-roll footage that Teachout recently put online, claiming that it was for aspiring volunteer videographers.

NY-22: Multimillionaire heiress Kim Myers rolled up to this week’s debate in a car worth more than the average salary for NY-22 families. The car had Pennsylvania plates, bringing up the question of whether it is a company car from her family business that Myers moved to Pittsburgh.

NY-24: Colleen Deacon told The Auburn Citizen that keeping America safe is her number one priority. If Deacon is being sincere, she may want to edit her website, which does not even contain a section on national security on its issues section.

PA-08: Slippery Steve Santarsiero has stopped showing up for work. Santarsiero has missed 40 of 59 votes in the past ten days, including skipping a joint legislative session addressing the opioid abuse crisis in Pennsylvania.

TX-23: Pete Gallego is having trouble being straight with voters about where he lives. According to the AP, Gallego lists his official address at a boarded up home in Alpine, and keeps a San Antonio apartment that’s his base while campaigning, but his wife and son live 80 miles north of San Antonio in Austin.

VA-10: Luann Bennett is back to pushing her tall tale that she lived at her rural Virginia estate, and not the Ritz-Carlton apartment she owns blocks from her office, saying she used the 110 mile commute to listen to books on tape. The NRCC suggested an audiobook for Bennett to listen to on her next commute: How to Stop Lying: The Ultimate Cure Guide for Pathological Liars and Compulsive Liars.
