Steve Santarsiero lied in today’s Courier Times op-ed
We clearly struck a nerve with Slippery Steve Santarsiero. In an op-ed that Santarsiero wrote in today’s edition of the Courier Times, Santarsiero takes issue with an NRCC ad drawing attention to the $50,000 in perks he’s received as a Harrisburg politician.
Specifically:
“I stay at a Fairfield Inn in New Cumberland about seven miles away — and, no, I don’t submit the miles for that either.
-Steve Santarsiero, October 4th, 2016
That’s a lie. According to Pennsylvania House of Representatives Office of the Comptroller, Santarsiero submitted for mileage to and from his hotel on 32 separate occasions for the amounts of $2.83 or $2.80.
So what is more embarrassing for Slippery Steve? That he just flat-out lied in an op-ed, or that he is so stingy that he nickel and dimed taxpayers for $2.80 and $2.83 a pop for mileage to and from his hotel?
NRCC Comment: “Steve Santarsiero denies submitting mileage for the commute to his taxpayer-funded hotel even though public records show that he billed taxpayers for $2.83 or less on 32 separate occasions for that exact reason. Steve Santarsiero is lying about his record to deflect from the fact that he has never had a bill signed into law in 8 years as a Harrisburg politician.” –NRCC Spokesman Chris Pack
