Don’t Forget – It’s Debate Night in Omaha

Tonight, Brigadier General Don Bacon and Rep. Brad Ashford will face off in their first debate in the race for Nebraska’s Second Congressional District. Here are a couple things to remember as Ashford squirms to be everything to everyone:

• Ashford will say anything. When asked by voters about his party affiliation, he told them he’s “Whatever you want me to be.” Don’t expect Ashford to take a stand on much of anything tonight.
• If Ashford does take a stand, it probably contradicts a position he’s held recently. See his evolving positions on GITMO.
• Don’t buy the bipartisan shtick. Ashford is heading up Hillary’s Nebraska campaign and has voted for Nancy Pelosi twice. In fact, he’s promised to support her as long as he’s in Congress.
