Deceptive ads by Rick Nolan’s D.C. liberal allies get an ‘F’ on Truth Test

National Democrats are at it again, using deceptively edited recordings of Stewart Mills in an attempt to mislead 8th District voters, and fact checkers are taking notice.

The ads, by House Majority PAC and DCCC, both use the same audio clip of Stewart Mills discussing trade in a speech. But when the groups were asked to provide the full audio of the speech to reporters, they refused. And the reason they would not provide the larger context? Because Mills was actually arguing against the TPP, which the deceptive ads claim he was supporting. Predictably, KSTP gave the egregiously misleading ads an “F” on its Truth Test.

It should come as no surprise that D.C.-based Democrats are lying in their ads to try to save Rick Nolan. Earlier this year, House Majority PAC had an ad pulled from the air by a Minnesota TV station for using different deceptively edited footage of Mills.

NRCC Comment: “Rick Nolan’s allies in D.C. are up to their same old tricks, lying to Minnesota voters in a desperate attempt to save Nolan’s flailing campaign. If Rick Nolan has any integrity left, he must immediately call on the DCCC and Nancy Pelosi’s Super PAC to pull these deceptive ads from the air.” – NRCC Spokesman Bob Salera
