Oops
This is painful to watch.
This morning in the Energy & Commerce Committee, Raul Ruiz was called out for grandstanding against a provision within the new American Health Care Act… since he had apparently forgotten he cosponsored a bill (H.R. 1624) last year signed by President Obama that does the exact same thing. Watch Chairman Greg Walden take Ruiz to school here.
Even better, Ruiz’s chest-thumping included this little oopsie: “I’m not an ideologue, here, I didn’t grow up in a partisan world.” Oh really?
Ruiz has some explaining to do if he wants his constituents to believe he’s not a reflexive partisan who will oppose the same provision he previously supported purely for political reasons.
Ball is in your court, Raul.
