Islands in the stream

In case you missed it, Nancy Pelosi made crystal clear on “Meet the Press” the reason she and national Democrats are pouring hundreds of thousands of dollars into Montana’s special election: because she knows Rob Quist will vote for her for Speaker.

This begs the question: will Quist reciprocate and say on the record that he will support Nancy Pelosi for Speaker of the House?

If Rob and Nancy are two “Islands in the stream,” Quist needs to be upfront about it. Staying silent and letting Nancy sing lead is the same as keeping Montanans in the dark about one of the most important decisions Quist will make in Washington.
