Murphy getting an earful

May 10, 2017

One week after Republicans delivered a win on repealing Obamacare, Stephanie Murphy is getting “earful” on the problems with the failing law during a roundtable meeting whose attendees “did not necessarily share her concerns” on the American Health Care Act.

Florida Politics reported that she was “peppered” with complaints that Obamacare has been detrimental to small businesses and individuals due to rapidly increasing costs.

“She precluded the questions by stressing her willingness to work across the aisle and her personal, professional and political commitments to small businesses. But she found herself largely peppered with health care law requests that may run counter to her priorities.”

Murphy responded to personal stories of out of control costs by saying it’s ok not to agree on this. It’s unclear whether or not she thought one couple having to pay $2,200 a month with a $5,000 deductible was also ok.
