I want nuclear waste to stay here

Dave Loebsack was one of 4 members in the Energy & Commerce Committee to vote ‘No’ on today’s Nuclear Waste Policy Amendments Act.

Quick question – why?

Maybe he doesn’t know that Iowa currently has 530 metric tons of stored nuclear waste just sitting around waiting for this Bill to pass? Maybe he missed this fact sheet that his fellow committee members put together?

What’s more likely is that he just doesn’t care. Or maybe he has a vested interest in keeping the waste right where it is, in the backyards of Iowa families.

Iowans should know that Dave Loebsack had the option to move nuclear waste out of Iowa – and he chose to keep it in their backyards.
