ICYMI: NRCC Chairman Steve Stivers: Democrats Can’t Stick Chuck Schumer In Mom Jeans To Rebrand Their Party
Today National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Steve Stivers joined the Hugh Hewitt Show and discussed Republican dominance in the 2017 special elections and the Democrats’ efforts to rebrand their liberal agenda.
NRCC CHAIRMAN STEVE STIVERS: “The President is just as popular as he’s ever been among the people voted for him. But the people that didn’t vote for him are getting louder and you can only vote once, at least if we do our job. They are a lot louder than they were before the election. As long as we do our job and we did it in Georgia. We did it in Kansas. We did in Montana and we did in South Carolina in the four special elections. We’re 4-0 because we got our voters out including Republican voters and Trump voters and they came out and voted for our candidates for Congress. The Democrats are energized, but our folks are energized too. When they hear the message and the choice, they are going to come out. This idea that Democrats can take Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and stick Chuck Schumer in mom jeans and take him to rural Virginia and rebrand their party is ludicrous. Nancy Pelosi is just as toxic as she ever was in every competitive district across America. They have the same policy, they are the same party. The party of single payer healthcare. They are the party Bernie Sanders and for them to think they can expand the playing field to rural or even suburban America is pretty laughable this point.”
