Dino Rossi posted an impressive third quarter fundraising total – raising more than $575,000 in just nine days before September 30. Even more impressive: 95% of that haul came from donors within Washington state.

Meanwhile, Washington state Democrats are divided and quickly falling behind in raising financial support for this open seat that is increasingly in danger of slipping away from national Democrats. Rossi raised more than double his nearest Democratic competitor, who had all quarter to build their war chest.

With no one candidate breaking out of the pack on the Democratic side, will Nancy Pelosi and national Democrats intervene and anoint an establishment pick to try to save this seat? We’ll be watching closely.
