Democrats in 2017

DCCC leader Cheri Bustos just set a shining example of how to be a Democrat in 2017.

She just voted NO on reauthorizing CHIP. She voted to gut funding for the Children’s Health Insurance Program.

Why? To protect the wealthiest 1% from paying their Medicare premiums in full. For someone who is the director of “Heartland engagement” for national Democrats, Cheri Bustos sure is out of touch with kids in the Heartland who rely on CHIP for their health care.

As if it couldn’t get any worse, Bustos also voted to:

• End funding for community health organizations in areas in dire need of proper medical facilities
• Cut funding for hospitals that serve primarily low-income patients
• Endanger critical health services for low-income kids and pregnant mothers in favor of millionaires
