…where was Peters?
Scott Peters is gallivanting around Europe with Governor Jerry Brown instead of doing the job he was elected to do – vote in his constituents’ best interests.
After voting against it in Committee, Peters missed a vote today to reauthorize the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, there are over 2 million kids enrolled in CHIP in California alone.
Energy & Commerce Committee Democrats originally characterized their ‘No’ vote as a way to protect Medicare subsidies for the top 1% of beneficiaries – essentially protecting taxpayer subsidies for millionaires at the expense of kids’ healthcare.
Think that sounds bad? We do too. Expect to see this haunt Peters all the way to 2018.
