18,234 jobs
18,234 Arizona jobs.
That’s how many Tom O’Halleran left on the table with his vote against the historic Tax Cut and Jobs Act today.
According to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, not only will the bill create 18,234 Arizona jobs, it will raise after-tax income for middle class Arizona families by $2,512.
The bill will also benefit Arizona’s First Congressional District in the following ways:
- Expand the Child Tax Credit, claimed by 48,883 taxpayers
- Grant tax relief for small businesses, benefiting 37,271 taxpayers with small business income
- Eliminate the Alternative Minimum Tax affecting 6,400 taxpayers
- Simplify the tax code for 72,268 taxpayers who itemize their taxes
“While the House moves forward with historic, job-creating tax reform, Tom O’Halleran is choosing to leave his constituents behind. O’Halleran’s continued insistence on putting obedience to Nancy Pelosi before his own constituents’ jobs and paychecks is shameful, and he will be held accountable for it at the ballot box.” -NRCC Spokesman Jack Pandol
