then and now
January 19, 2018
Then: In 2013, Bill Keating went on MSNBC to emphasize the life-and-death effects of a government shutdown. He specifically referenced a cancer patient who was told he would not receive an experimental treatment due to the shutdown.
Now: Keating voted to shut down the government and hold funding hostage for our troops and 8.4 million low-income children who rely on the CHIP program for essential health care.
“If Bill Keating understood the destruction and chaos caused by a government shutdown five years ago, why did he vote to make that a reality last night?” – NRCC spokesman Chris Martin
