Tom O’Halleran is engaging in a furious spin job after voting last week to shut down the government and throw millions of kids off their health insurance.

Here are the facts about Arizona’s 1^st District:

• According to the Georgetown University Center for Children and Families, there are 10,904 children enrolled in CHIP
• According to the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 12,936 federal employees (second-highest in the state of Arizona)

No amount of gauzy tweets about “bipartisanship” can obscure the fact these kids could go without healthcare, and these federal employees without a paycheck, based on Tom’s decision to side with Nancy Pelosi over his constituents.

It’s time for O’Halleran to take responsibility for his reckless and irresponsible vote. If he won’t, it’s a sure bet the tens of thousands of his constituents he’s screwing over won’t forget.
