Maloney’s shutdown record
Yesterday Sean Patrick Maloney voted to prolong the government shutdown and prevent the re-authorization of the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
According to the Georgetown University Center for Children, more than 18,000 low-income children rely on CHIP for essential health care in NY-18 alone.
That was the second time Maloney has voted to shut the government down in less than five days.
“Sean Patrick Maloney voted twice to shut down the government and hold health care funding hostage for thousands of low-income children in his district. Voters will be frequently reminded that Maloney prioritized his standing with Nancy Pelosi and Democratic leadership over doing the right thing.” – NRCC spokesman Chris Martin
