We can’t afford a step backward

February 8, 2018

Wages are rising. Unemployment is low. Companies are choosing to invest their resources in the American economy because they believe in our country’s future thanks to the agenda put forth by our Republican-controlled Congress.

As the benefits of The Great American Comeback continue to reveal themselves each day, Democrats continue to remind our nation why we can’t afford to trust their party with power.

Assuming Pelosi either leaves on her own or is pressured to step down, her exit would trigger a messy battle between the party’s old guard led by House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.), and the party’s younger members, represented by House Democratic Caucus Chairman Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.).

Things just keep getting worse for Democrats. While Republicans are focused on the priorities of all Americans, Democrats are stuck fighting each other over political power struggles

“I think some leaders pushing 80 think they are the future, and it’s laughable. And I think they are in for a big surprise, because most of us are ready for a real change and new leadership,” said another House Democrat, referring to Hoyer’s age. He described that sentiment as “deep and widespread.” It’s about the future versus the past.”

A vote for Democrats this November is a vote to reinstate Nancy Pelosi as Speaker. Even members of her own party agree – going backward isn’t an option.
