Moving the goalposts: “Okay, some will see cuts”

Yesterday, we outlined the hypocrisy of Democrats making self-serving false claims about tax reform, even though it benefits millions of Americans.

Their first claim? That “everyone’s taxes will go up.” No surprise, that didn’t happen. So they backtracked, instead claiming that just some Americans will receive tax cuts – but not the majority of us.

“Under this bill the working class, middle class and upper middle class get skewered while the rich and wealthy corporations make out like bandits. It is just the opposite of what America needs, and Republicans will rue the day they pass this,” Schumer said in a statement.

The truth is that Americans from every tax bracket are seeing tax cuts and more money in their paychecks this year.
The Democratic scrambling to cut down middle class-positive tax reform at any cost is now causing their party to eat crow as Americans reap the benefits of tax reform.
