who could have predicted this?
As June draws closer, Democratic candidates for Congress are getting more and more nervous… and they’re starting to throw punches at their primary opponents.
In Southern California, Harley Rouda has a new ad highlighting Hans Keirstead’s status as a serial liar, including Keirstead’s false claim he was promised a committee chairmanship as a freshman – which Steny Hoyer’s spokesman called “preposterous.”
Also, Josh Butner is attacking Ammar Campa-Najjar for his alleged support of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, which Najjar contends is “shameful” and says Butner “must really underestimate [voters’] intelligence.”
As the fistfights begin, it’s indicative of what we’ve been saying all along: Democrats will limp out of these huge primaries with baggage and depleted resources, seriously hurting their ability to compete in a general election.
