liens, lawsuits, and lies
The Democrats just can’t seem to catch a break in California’s 21st district.
After patting themselves on the back for convincing TJ Cox to pack up and move districts from the 10th to the 21st, Cox’s past is coming to light.
The Mercury News reports Cox was slapped with a lien for nearly $50,000 in unpaid taxes last year.
Cox was also ordered by a judge to repay his lawyers $49,000 in unpaid bills resulting from “an extended legal dispute over one of Cox’s businesses,” in which an arbitrator found Cox sold property he knew was damaged and did not disclose it. Cox’s business was forced to cough up more than $1.3 million for breach of contract.
While the DCCC calls Cox’s background “compelling and exciting,” we’re willing to bet Central Valley residents might use another word: “shady.”
