“new generation of Democratic leadership”?

March 19, 2018

Yesterday, Dean Phillips seemingly came out against Nancy Pelosi, calling for a “new generation of leadership.”

From the New York Times: “At least three of the Democrats’ ‘red to blue’ candidates — recruits designated as top priorities by the D.C.C.C. — have signaled they would prefer a leader other than Ms. Pelosi. In Minnesota, Dean Phillips, a wealthy businessman challenging Representative Erik Paulsen, a Republican, has called for a “new generation of leadership.”

In light of this new revelation, the NRCC is calling on Dean Phillips to refuse all future contributions from the DCCC and House Democratic leadership.

“Dean Phillips is already all over the map on policy issues, and now he wants to have it both ways on Nancy Pelosi. He cannot simultaneously call for new Democratic leadership, while accepting contributions and campaign assistance from the old Democratic leadership. If he’s going to denounce Pelosi – he has to go all in.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maddie Anderson
