Pam Keith can’t catch a break.

Remember when Lauren Baer went on TV and dodged saying whether she would support Nancy Pelosi? And then remember when she answered the question two months later by having Pelosi send out a fundraising email for her?

Unsurprisingly, Baer’s primary opponent — Pam Keith – was not too pleased with the national Democrats explicit primary meddling. Her campaign manager said: “Lauren is the handpicked choice of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, but Pam is the grassroots leader. She represents the people. My candidate is African American.”

Now we have further proof that Lauren Baer is Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked candidate. Nancy Pelosi, Steny Hoyer, and the DCCC all donated to Baer in Q1. None of them donated to Pam Keith. Why? Because national Democrats are trying to play kingmaker in nearly every competitive primary in the country. 

But the real question is – will voters let them get away with it?
