“why does the D-trip know better than voters… who to pick?”
In a brutal interview this morning with MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson, DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Lujan struggled to answer for Democrats’ controversial interventions in primaries like Texas’ Seventh District, while simultaneously expressing no regrets.
He also went hard against progressive Laura Moser: accusing her of offending African Americans and people with disabilities, and calling her comments “disqualifying.”
Moser has used the DCCC’s attack as anti-establishment rocket fuel for her campaign, elevating her into the runoff and causing the establishment to back away from formally endorsing her opponent, Lizzie Pannill Fletcher.
“The DCCC’s comically ham-fisted attempts to control primaries like Texas’ Seventh are tearing the Democratic Party in two. Texas voters don’t want to be told who to vote for by the Washington establishment, fueling this battle royale of their own creation.” -NRCC Spokesman Jack Pandol
