dinner with Saddam Hussein
Leslie Cockburn’s campaign is no stranger to scandal. Her book, A Dangerous Liaison, has already received widespread criticism for its anti-Semitic nature. The New York Times said it was “largely dedicated to Israel-bashing for its own sake. Its first message is that, win or lose, smart or dumb, right or wrong, suave or boorish, Israelis are a menace. The second is that the Israeli-American connection is somewhere behind just about everything that ails us.”
Her latest scandal? Proudly boasting about having “dinner with Saddam Hussein’s sons and tea with Moammar Gaddafi.”
Terrorist mastermind Saddam Hussein? Yep. Violent dictator Moammar Gaddafi? You guessed it.
Cockburn further showed how tone-deaf she is to the district by telling the Washington Post “I’m not going to woo those Trump supporters in the evangelical churches where people feel Democrats are satanic.”
Leslie Cockburn has some questions to answer:
- Why did she share a meal with Hussein’s sons and have tea with Gaddafi?
- Why did she think bragging about it to the Washington Post was a good idea?
- Why is she alienating an entire voting bloc by claiming they view the opposing party as ‘satanic’?
- Which violent dictator is she going to break bread with next after she loses to Denver Riggleman?
