Keeping Our Communities Safe
This week, the Republican-led House released its final package to fight the opioid crisis. This comes on top of groundbreaking work House Republicans have already done to combat the opioid crisis. That work includes 57 comprehensive bills that give aid to victims, strengthen medical support programs, and provide first responders and police forces with the tools they need to fight this nation-wide epidemic.
This final package would bridge the gap between the House’s and Senate’s previous bills, and is expected to pass quickly and be signed into law by the president. Public health experts agree that it will make a difference in fighting the opioid crisis.
To date, the American opioid crisis has claimed more than 2 million lives, spanning education levels, ethnicities, geographic locations, and socioeconomic statuses. Now, thanks to House Republicans’ leadership, our country can begin putting an end to this crisis once and for all. This is just another way that House Republicans are working to protect our communities and keep Americans safe.
