While you’re covering President Trump’s visit to NC09 today, let’s take a quick look back to 2016.

Some commentary from Dan McCready from that year:

• “In my view, Trump is the greatest threat to our constitution and our democracy of my lifetime, and people must view this as a final straw.”  (The Guardian)
• “Donald Trump undermines everything veterans have fought for.” (TIME)
• “Honor what [veterans] fought for, and the sacrifices of so many before us, by stopping Trump.” (TIME)

These are strong words that stand in stark contrast to McCready’s words during this campaign.

• “In the same way that I will stand up to President Trump on matters of our constitution and ethics, I will work with him on something that will benefit folks in this district.” (Eagle Tribune)

Voters shouldn’t be fooled by McCready’s rhetoric from the campaign trail. He’ll obstruct the Trump agenda, no matter how helpful it is to the ninth congressional district.
