LOL: $14.5 billion for socialized campaigns?
As House Democrats prepare to vote on their latest asinine proposal, H.R. 1, we decided to pull out the old calculator and see exactly what their socialized political campaign proposal would cost.
According to a Bloomberg analysis, Democrats will vote tomorrow to funnel up to $5 million to each person running for the House of Representatives. And according to Open Secrets, in 2018, there were 2,905 candidates who ran for a House seat.
$5,000,000 X 2,905 = $14,525,000,000
That’s right! Democrats are asking for U.S. taxpayers to foot the bill for up to $14.5 BILLION in political campaign spending. So in their effort to get “big money” out of politics, the Dems are looking to increase spending on House races, which topped out at $1,677,324,314 in 2018, by a factor of 8. All at the expense of taxpayers.
