NRCC Weekly Rundown: Dem civil war heating up
And here’s this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:
(National) This week House Minority Whip Steve Scalise introduced a discharge petition to force a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. This comes after far-left Democrats in New York and Virginia legalized abortions up to the moment of birth, and even after birth in the case of racist Governor Ralph Northam. Polling shows a dramatic swing in voters who now identify as pro-life. So where do House Democrats stand on infanticide? I guess we’ll find out.
(National) Instead of getting to work as they promised, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her band of socialist Democrats have spent the last month passing non-binding messaging resolutions. With a caucus that embraces radical ideas like single-payer health care, reparations and banning airplanes, it’s no mystery why they can’t deliver any substantive results for voters. In fact, the Democrats’ ideas are now so extreme they can’t even corral their caucus to propose a budget. It’s clear the socialist Democrats’ 2020 strategy is wasting everyone’s time on bogus resolutions and empty rhetoric.
(National) Anti-Semitism must also be a part of the Dem’s 2020 strategy, considering yesterday House Democrats voted against an effort to condemn BDS, an anti-Semitic boycott movement targeting Israel. However, none of this comes as a surprise, since this is the party who refers to Jewish people as termites, contends Israel has hypnotized the world and questions the loyalty of Jewish Americans.
(National) Not only did House Democrats fail on Israel, they also politicized women’s safety by voting against a clean passage of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) which would provide shelter and assistance to women fleeing domestic abuse. Instead, they opted to vote for a version infringing on religious rights and the Second Amendment, which stands no chance of passing the GOP-controlled Senate. This behavior isn’t shocking when it comes to the safety of women, the socialist Democrats are shameful hypocrites.
(National) House Democrats are preparing to take advice from the unhinged left, as Hollywood liberals John Legend and Chrissy Teigen were announced as speakers for their upcoming “star-studded” retreat. This event should be the gift that keeps on giving for Republicans, as both Legend and Teigen suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Here are some of their greatest hits:
- When asked by “Extra’s” A.J. Calloway whether she would be open to sitting down with President Trump, Teigen said “No, I would never…I think I would throw up in my mouth. It’s just impossible to me.”
- Teigen’s called President Trump a “f**king idiot”, “a joke”, and a “racist pig.”
- Legend called President Trump “a f—ing embarrassment.”
Apparently, the event organizers forgot 31 House Democrats represent districts President Trump won…
(National) Last week the DCCC announced their plan to ‘blacklist’ firms who support grassroots primary challengers, and progressive Democrats were quick to voice their displeasure. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her band of socialist Democrats are now urging donors to withhold money from the House Democrats’ campaign arm to protest the organization’s new policy. On Twitter, AOC recommended that small-donors give directly to swing candidates like Katie Hill, Mike Levin, and Lauren Underwood through progressive organizations like ActBlue, which could be devastating to the DCCC’s fundraising efforts. Nothing like a little intra-party civil war to keep things interesting!
(CA-21) T.J. Cox graced the front page of The Fresno Bee for the second week in a row – this time for failing to disclose six different business interests, including one with a foreign corporation, from his financial disclosure form when he first ran for Congress. TJ also failed to disclose that he rented out his Fresno home…while still claiming a property tax exemption on it. Looks like skating around the law is becoming a pattern for TJ…
(GA-06) Lucy McBath really doesn’t want to talk about being a Tennessee resident. After having her homestead exemption in Cobb County revoked, McBath went radio silent, refusing to answer questions related to her taxes. On top of that, when McBath’s office finally decided to comment on her residency issue, they lied. This is awfully suspicious behavior from someone who claims to be a Georgia Resident. What’s there to hide, Lucy?
(IA-03) Cindy Axne is nowhere to be found as her fellow socialist Democrats play politics with flood relief or Iowans. 2020 wannabes Cory Booker, Kirsten Gillibrand, Amy Klobuchar, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren decided to play partisan games with disaster relief, delaying much-needed funds from those affected in Iowa. Despite the suffering of her constituents, Axne is standing by silently even as those same Senators lobby for her support ahead of the caucuses. Some kind of leadership…
(IL-17) Cheri Bustos’ own constituents think it’s time for someone to “mount a campaign” against the DCCC Chairwoman. Voters are upset that “Beltway Bustos” enacted a “tone-deaf” policy that “stifles competition and protects life-long politicians.” Yikes. It’s one thing to be disliked by fellow socialists in DC, but when your constituents want you out, you’re really in trouble.
(MN-02) Angie Craig recently introduced her first piece of legislation, H.R. 1425, a bill she claims will benefit Minnesota families by addressing the high cost of health care. Except… that’s not exactly right. Her bill actually sends Minnesota tax dollars right into the wallets of insurance company executives. Which makes sense, considering Angie took over $77,000 from health care executives last cycle. When it comes to Angie’s war chest, it really is quid pro Craig.
(NE-02) The threat of being blacklisted by the DCCC isn’t holding off progressive primary opponents in Nebraska. In case socialist Kara Eastman wasn’t enough of a lefty, Nebraska Dems now have an even more extreme candidate to call their own – self-described “outspoken social media persona on the patriarchy” Morgann Freeman (not that one). Freeman is a dream candidate for socialist Democrats (and Republican opposition researchers) thanks to her long history of explosive leftist rhetoric. Looks like Kara Eastman is going to have to fight for every vote from the lunatic left, and the divisive primary will render her even more unelectable in the general election.
(NY-01) “Park Avenue” Perry Gershon has decided to light more of his money on fire by mounting another challenge against Congressman Lee Zeldin. Gershon has fully-embraced the socialist Democrats’ agenda, including the $32 trillion boondoggle, “Medicare for All,” and the issuance of driver licenses to illegal immigrants. Gershon can spend all the money in the world, but that won’t change the fact that Long Island voters already rejected his radical candidacy.
(NY-19) Socialist Democrat Antonio Delgado wants to take Obamacare a step further with his introduction of “Medicare X.” Delgado’s legislation would result in government-run health care that leaves folks with worse care, balloon deficits, drive private companies out of business and raise costs for employers. Delgado’s plan would turn our health care system into the DMV, and that’s a nightmare no one deserves.
(TX-22) Weird Texas Democrat Sri Kulkarni is once again running for Congress after being rejected by Texans just a short five months ago. This time around, Kulkarni hopes to recapture that leftist magic that propelled him to a loss in 2018 by pushing extreme socialist measures like banning guns and private health insurance. Texans already rejected the socialist Democrat and his radical left-wing agenda once, and they’ll do it again in 2020.
(Virginia) It’s been two months since all hell broke loose in Virginia’s State House, and astonishingly enough, the men involved – including racist Governor Ralph Northam and alleged rapist Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax – are STILL in office. In interviews with CBS News this week, Fairfax’s accusers Vanessa Tyson and Meredith Watson described in graphic detail their claims that the Lt. Governor sexually assaulted and raped them. Reps. Elaine Luria and Abigail Spanberger said they believe the victims’ accounts, so why are they refusing to return donations given to them by a man they believe is a rapist?
(VA-10) Jennifer Wexton quickly jetted out of Washington yesterday, but she wasn’t going to meet with constituents. Instead, she appeared at a swanky cocktail party in Texas with socialist Democrats Andrew Gillum, Kathy Tran, and the dark money liberal group, The Democracy Alliance. Odd place for a Congresswoman who claims to be against dark money, no? Only a few months inside the beltway and Wexton has already given up on her phony campaign promises.
(WI-03) The NRCC launched digital ads in WI-03 this week after Ron Kind joined his radical colleagues who are calling on Congress to “impeach the m—f—!” Even after President Trump was fully exonerated of collusion by Special Counsel Mueller, Kind (whose district Trump won handily) thinks the President of the United States should be “removed” from office. Turns out Ron Kind is just another extremist who wants to impeach the president without any evidence.
News & Notes
Progressive House Dems Are Going to War With the DCCC
Less than a week after the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee announced it would blacklist vendors that work with candidates who primary incumbent House Democrats, new members who found success in that very strategy are pushing back, calling the policy “extremely divisive” and warning it would undermine women and people of color.
Over the weekend, House Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, and Ro Khanna of California challenged the DCCC’s new policy refusing to hire political vendors that work with candidates seeking to challenge Democratic incumbents. READ.
Cox failed to disclose several business interests, including a foreign tie, during candidacy
Rep. TJ Cox, D-Fresno, failed to disclose several business interests during his most recent congressional candidacies, including the fact that he sits on the board of a for-profit Canadian mining company, according to public records obtained by The Bee.
Cox, who defeated Republican incumbent David Valadao by less than 1,000 votes in 2018, has ties to dozens of businesses throughout the central San Joaquin Valley and beyond. He’s an engineer by trade who also is involved in health care, senior care, real estate development, and mining. READ.
Republicans talk tough about Adam Schiff, but will they run against him?
Republicans are gung-ho to see Adam Schiff bounced out of office after he alleged collusion between President Trump’s 2016 campaign and Russia, a charge the congressman’s critics say was refuted by special counsel Robert Mueller’s still widely un-read investigation.
But are they gung-ho enough to actually run a credible candidate against him in 2020?
“Adam Schiff is a clown who is promoting conspiracy theories to build name recognition for a statewide campaign in California. The NRCC is recruiting in every congressional district across the country — the possible open seat in CA-28 included,” NRCC spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair said by email Monday. READ.
Cheese Reporter editor accused of telling GOP official: ‘Hope you don’t get raped at a MAGA rally’
A Republican aide who sent a press release supporting the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act was shocked to receive an email back from the account of the specialty cheese editor of the Cheese Reporter newspaper about the possibility of her being raped.
Carly Atchison, press secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said via Twitter: “I wrote a release advocating for legislation protecting babies surviving a botched abortion. This is how one associate editor chose to respond.” She then shared a screenshot of an email that appeared to be from Moira Crowley, specialty cheese editor of the Wisconsin-based Cheese Reporter.
The email said: “Hey, Carly – Hope you don’t get raped at a MAGA rally and have to carry that child to term,” Crowley wrote, according to a screenshot. “DON’T EVER CONTACT ME AGAIN.” “MAGA” stands for “Make America Great Again,” President Trump’s 2016 campaign slogan. READ.
Cheese Reporter deletes tweets claiming rape email to GOP official was result of a hack
The Wisconsin-based Cheese Reporter newspaper has deleted tweets that claimed its Specialty cheese editor’s email accounts was hacked to send a message about rape to a Republican official.
An email from Moira Crowley, 45, the Specialty cheese editor, was sent to Carly Atchison, press secretary for the National Republican Congressional Committee, stating that she hoped she would get “raped at a MAGA rally and have to carry that child to term.”
The newspaper claimed on Twitter Tuesday that Crowley’s account had been hacked.
By Wednesday, however, the tweets no longer appeared on the Cheese Reporters Twitter page, bringing into question whether Crowley’s account was actually hacked. Neither the Cheese reporter’s official Facebook page nor Crowley’s personal Facebook page was visible.
