NRCC Weekly Rundown: More socialist stupidity
And here’s this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:
(National) Resident anti-Semites Rashida
Tlaib and Ilhan Omar made headlines this week after tweeting
their endorsements of
the Hamas
rocket attacks on Israeli civilians. Normally Tlaib and Omar’s embrace
and defense of Hamas would send chills down the spines of every member in their
caucus, but their deranged and bigoted rhetoric has become widely accepted amongst the cowardly socialist
Democrats. Only in today’s Democratic Party is it okay for sitting members
of Congress – one of whom serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee –
to side with
a terrorist organization
instead of one of the United States’ closest allies.
(California, NV-03) Looks like California Democrats and
Nevada Rep. Susie Lee would rather spend time saving
wild horses instead of innocent newborn babies. Think about it: Why
else would they sign
onto a letter that objects to selling wild horses “without
restrictions on slaughter,” but not speak out against the radical socialist
Democrat policy of supporting
infanticide?
(CA-21) Happy Small Business Week! Although, T.J. Cox probably
wasn’t in a celebratory mood after he was evicted from
Fresno’s ice-skating rink and issued a $1.5
million levy from the Fresno County Sherriff’s Office. On top of that, T.J.’s non-profit
(which, by the way, is still boozing it
up at their AlleyWave
parties) is still unable
to operate because he hasn’t filed the
correct tax forms in TWO YEARS. He’s also taken the delinquency
notice from the California AG’s office as more of a suggestion.
At this point, it’s fair to say T.J. couldn’t care
less about the law.
(FL-26, FL-27) The looney ladies of Code Pink showed
their support for murderous dictator Nicolás Maduro this week
by occupying the
Venezuelan Embassy in Washington, D.C. The group is a big
fan of Ilhan Omar, who has publicly
praisedMaduro and placed blame on the United States for the
country’s humanitarian crisis. This should be a Code
Red for Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and Donna
Shalala who represent thousands of Venezuelans. Do
they #StandWithIlhan and Code Pink? If they don’t, why haven’t
they demanded Omar be
removed from the House Foreign Affairs Committee?
(IA-02) The DCCC is up to their old tricks, intervening in the IA-02 primary
to push out progressive millennial Veronica Tessler in favor
of their preferred candidate, career politician Rita Hart. Over the
weekend, Tessler mysteriously dropped
out of the race with little to no explanation. But now we
know why! DCCC Chairwoman Cheri “Beltway” Bustos posted a
photo on Instagram of
herself at the Ultimate Women’s Power Lunch, seated right next to Rita
Hart. It seems the DCCC is playing
favorites and clearing the field in anticipation of Hart’s announcement.
Beltway politics at its worst!
(IL-14) Fake Nurse Lauren Underwood also had a
rough go at Small Business Week after her business, Ivy Health Associates, was revoked for failing
to comply with D.C. law. But Lauren’s not
letting the failure of her business stop her from advising
other small business owners! Do as I say, not as I do – right, Lauren? (Who would
want her advice?)
(IL-17, WI-03) Infanticide is growing in popularity among members
of the socialist Democratic caucus, including Beltway Bustos and Ron
Kind. Both Bustos and Kind are blocking the Born
Alive Survivors’ Protection Act by refusing to sign adischarge
petition that would bring the legislation to the floor for a vote. Bustos even
voted to protect
doctors who refuse to give treatment to newborn babies who survive a
botched abortion. In their minds, abortion doctors are more important
than these so-called “fetuses”
who, according to the socialist Democrats, are not
human beings. With such a radicalized socialist Democratic Party,
it’s no
wonder there’s been a drastic shift on abortion attitudes.
(NE-02) In a wide-ranging interview with
the Every Second Year blog, Ann Ashford spoke candidly about
everything from corporate PAC donations to socialist darling Alexandria
Ocasio Cortez to her primary opponent. More notably, when asked if she
disagreed with any issues in the socialist Democratic Party’s orthodoxy, Ashford couldn’t
name one. Ashford said, “Not that I can think of. Not that
I can think of. If there is one out there, I just haven’t encountered it yet.”
Even as the socialist Democrats push further and further left, Ashford can’t
think of a single position she doesn’t agree with. That’s
quite a statement from a self-proclaimed “moderate.”
(NJ-03) At a recent Chamber of Commerce event in Tom’s River, Andy
Kim was asked where he stands on AOC’s socialist
Green New Deal. Kim, who has the spine
of a jellyfish, declined to offer his thoughts and told the audience he’s
focusing on his district. A fellow panelist derisively remarked, “Good answer,
Congressman.” How are New Jersey families supposed to count on Kim if
he can’t even stand up to AOC’s ridiculous plan to ban farting cows and
airplanes? What a coward.
(NC-09) Dan McCready traveled all the way to Raleigh last week to
march alongside public school teachers. On multiple
occasions, McCready stated that
he believes every child should be able to attend a good public school. BUT –
wait for it – his kids go to a private school that costs
somewhere around $18k per
year. If McCready is such a champion of public
schools and their teachers, why won’t he send his own children to one?
(NM-03) Another anti-Semite
is running for Congress in New Mexico’s 3rd congressional
district. Valerie Plame announced her
candidacy yesterday – but not before scrubbing her Twitter. In what’s become an
alarming trend among the socialist Democrats, Plame’s Twitter
feed reads like an Ilhan Omar fever dream of
anti-Semitic conspiracy theories, sharing links with sickening titles like
“America’s Jews Are Driving America’s Wars” and “War Inside The Beltway,
Israeli-occupied Congress confronts the White House.” If bigots like Valerie
Plame are seen as acceptable candidates, Democratic leadership and the DCCC are
going to have serious problems come 2020.
News & Notes
Are House Democrats Ready for the Rematch?
The presidential election will be propelling the political conversation in the
upcoming year. But Democrats’ attempt to preserve their House majority will be
an equally significant storyline that will determine the permanence of their
power base.
The math is simple: Republicans need to pick up at least 18 House seats to win
back control of power. There are 31 Democrats representing districts that
President Trump carried in 2016; an additional 12 represent battleground
districts that Mitt Romney carried in 2012. Only three Republicans—Reps. John
Katko of New York, Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, and Will Hurd of
Texas—represent districts that Hillary Clinton won.
Many Republicans are privately pessimistic about their chances for a comeback
in the House with Trump on the ballot. “Zero chance,” said one top GOP
operative who was closely involved in the 2018 midterms. Nearly every targeted
Democrat raised impressive sums of campaign cash in the opening quarter of
2019, showing that they’re taking their reelection races seriously.
But there are some clear signs that 2020 won’t be a repeat of last year’s
midterms. Compelling GOP recruits are already announcing campaigns in swing
districts, a sign that the party views last year’s dismal political environment
as an anomaly. Republicans are co-opting parts of the Democratic playbook,
looking for a diverse roster of political outsiders eager to run on pocketbook
issues. READ.
Republicans think Ilhan Omar is a winning message against South Florida
Democrats
South Florida Democrats are among the most knowledgeable lawmakers on the
ongoing crisis in Venezuela, and frequently work with Republicans on the issue.
After all, they represent some of the largest Venezuelan and South American
communities in the United States.
That doesn’t matter to national Republicans.
The National Republican Congressional Committee, a group that seeks to elect
Republicans to the House of Representatives, launched a Facebook ad campaign
this week targeting Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell for not calling on Minnesota
Rep. Ilhan Omar to step down from the foreign affairs committee after she
referred to U.S. support for Juan Guaido as a U.S.-backed coup attempt.
“Ilhan Omar blamed the U.S. for the Venezuela crisis and openly supports
murderous socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro,” the ad says. “But
Debbie Mucarsel-Powell has been SILENT. Tell Debbie it’s time to remove Omar
from the Foreign Relations Committee.” READ.
Ilhan Omar blamed U.S. for Venezuela crisis; NRCC wants Debbie Mucarsel-Powell
to comment
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is out with a new
digital ad calling on Democratic U.S. Rep. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell to address
comments made by fellow Democratic U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar regarding America’s
role in the ongoing Venezuela crisis.
…
But NRCC Spokeswoman Camille Gallo argues Mucarsel-Powell’s past opposition to
Maduro warrants a response to Omar’s views.
“Debbie Mucarsel-Powell needs to definitively state whether Ilhan Omar should
be kicked off the House Foreign Affairs Committee,” Gallo said. “There is no
place on that committee for someone who supports the murderous Venezuelan
dictator.” READ.
NRCC: Kim has “the spine of a jellyfish” on the Green New Deal
The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) isn’t mincing words when
it comes to Andy Kim (D, NJ-03) and his position (or lack thereof) on the Green
New Deal.
An NRCC tracker caught up to Kim at a Chamber of Commerce event in Toms River
where the freshman Congressman badly hedged on a question about the hugely
controversial socialist economic and environmental plan proposed by Congresswoman
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez:
“Kim, showing the spine of a jellyfish, declined to offer his thoughts, telling
the audience he’s focusing on his district, to which a fellow panelist
derisively remarked, ‘Good answer, Congressman,’” NRCC spokesperson Michael
McAdams opined in a press release. “If Kim is too much of a coward to take a
stand against AOC’s plan to ban cows and airplanes, how can New Jersey families
count on him to fight for them in Washington?” READ.
National Republicans already ‘heavily recruiting’ congressional candidates
to run against Utah Rep. Ben McAdams
National Republicans are already “heavily recruiting” candidates to
run against the newest member of Utah’s congressional delegation and only
Democrat, Rep. Ben McAdams, next year.
McAdams won the 4th Congressional District seat last year by beating the
two-term GOP incumbent, former Rep. Mia Love, by less than 700 votes in a
district that ranks among the top 100 most Republican in the nation.
The 2020 race is a priority for the National Republican Congressional
Committee.
“We’re heavily recruiting in Utah’s 4th District to ensure socialist Democrat
Ben McAdams’ first term in Congress is also his last. This district is one of
our top pick-up opportunities,” NRCC spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair said in a
statement. READ.
