Plan C in NE-02
Some hilarious news out of Nebraska this morning – while Comrade Kara Eastman and Ann Ashford were busy having a public food fight over when to impeach President Trump, the DCCC hit the eject button and recruited a third candidate into the race.
Gladys Harrison, the owner of Big Mama’s Kitchen, announced she formed an exploratory committee this week. The Intercept first reported last month that the DCCC was recruiting Harrison last month amid concerns that Eastman and Ashford were not up to the task. Those concerns were only amplified by the 2nd straight quarter of hilariously bad fundraising by both candidates.
Harrison’s entry sets up a three-way primary featuring the DCCC’s preferred candidate, the socialist 2018 nominee who remains popular among the Democrat base, and the wife of a former Congressman who is the choice of the local party machine. Should be fun!
