Eastman plagiarizes socialist message
Copycat Comrade Kara took to Twitter this morning with some pretty deep
sounding socialist thought. What she left out was that she was plagiarizing a
leftist professor’s column that was published a few hours earlier.
What Eastman excluded from her plagiarized summary was the price tag for proposed
socialist programs, a combined $2-3 TRILLION per year, and her argument for
higher taxes for ALL Americans.
Here’s a comparison between Comrade Kara’s tweet and Northwestern University
Professor Monica Prasad’s column this morning arguing for higher taxes
and more government spending:
Comrade Kara: Ending the #OpioidCrisis
could pay for itself in health care
savings.
Professor Prasad: Solving the opioid
crisis could pay for itself in the savings
in health care costs it brings.
Comrade Kara: Debt-free college
would increase the employability of Americans.
Professor Prasad: Free college for all would dramatically upgrade the skills of the American
middle and working classes.
Comrade Kara: Universal child care
frees up work time dealing with child care struggles.
Professor Prasad: Universal child care
would free up hours of employee time spent on child-care hassles.
Comrade Kara: Government programs can be the foundation of economic growth.
Professor Prasad: If you care about the fate of government, the thing to
listen for in the Democratic debates isn’t just proposals for taxing the
wealthy, it’s whether any candidate has the ability to explain how taxes
benefit everyone, individually and collectively, and why government programs
can be the foundation of economic growth. The Democratic candidate who can do that will finally
break the grip that Ronald Reagan still has on our country’s finances.
