NRCC Weekly Rundown: Impeachment-obsessed Democrats finally touch the hot stove

September 27, 2019

Here’s this week’s edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:

(National) Vulnerable Democrats are in an all-out panic after realizing they don’t have a plan and their impeachment quest will be an electoral nightmare. Following the Democrats’ emergency caucus meeting, Michigan Rep.Elissa Slotkin summarized their disaster perfectly saying“We came out because this is something different, this meeting did not give me confidence that this will be something different.” Not good! But what’s even worse for their reelection hopes is that voters feel the same way with new polling showing only 37% of voters support impeachment. We hope every vulnerable Dem buys one of Rashida Tlaib’s new tasteless impeach the m*****f****r t-shirts on their way out of Washington today!

(National) In case you missed it, NRCC Chairman Tom Emmer appeared on Fox Business Varney & Co Tuesday morning to discuss the socialist Democrats’ insane drive toward impeaching President Trump. Chairman Emmer highlighted that impeachment remains unpopular among voters and will cost Democrats their majority in Congress after the 2020 elections. Click HERE to view the interview.

(National) If you thought the socialist Democrats’ rhetoric against President Trump couldn’t get any more unhinged, you were wrong! This week Sheila Jackson Leeretweeted a call for President Trump to be executed, further showing that their deranged hatred of the president is eroding their sanity and ability to effectively do their jobs.

(AZ-01) Have you been able to find Tom O’Halleran’sstatement on impeachment? Probably not considering it isn’t on his Facebook page, his Twitter account, his website, or his Instagram. It sure looks as though he’s trying to hide his stance. After some digging, you may find a reporter that tweeted Tom’s full statement, however, you’ll notice he doesn’t use the word “impeachment” once. Meanwhile, Tom’s primary opponent, Eva Putzova has made her pro-impeachment stance loud and clear! REMINDER: O’Halleran represents a district President Trump won in 2016.

(CA-10, 21, 39) Josh Harder, T.J. Cox and Gil Cisneros dropped their moderate façades this week and joined their fellow socialist Democrats on their politically-motivated crazed quest to impeach President Trump. Only 35% of registered voters in California believe Congress should begin impeachment proceedings, so good luck you silly socialists!

(CA-25)CASE CLOSED: The NRCC solved the mystery of Katie Hill’ssudden support for impeachment! As it turns out, the same week Hill had a change of heart on impeachment, she also gained a primary challenger. Coincidence? We think not. At least she’s staying consistent with her March 2019 comments

(FL-07, 13, 27) Choo-Choo!Florida Democrats Stephanie Murphy, Charlie Crist and Donna Shalala are all aboard the baseless impeachment train! Their decision to side with their socialist colleagues and their sham inquiry proves they have chosen their deranged base over the people of south Florida.

(FL-26) Despite claiming to be against socialism, Debbie Mucarsel-Powellinvited an active member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and #AbolishICE advocate to be a panelist at her town hall. Why did Debbie extend an invite? We don’t know because she refused to comment! Although, this isn’t at all surprising given Debbievotes with socialist darling AOC over 94% of the time.

(GA-06) Lyin’ Lucy McBath is scrambling to convince Georgians she was never hiding her stance on impeachment. After dodging reporters’ questions and skipping out on a committee markup, McBathannounced on her campaign Twitter that she is, and has always been, for impeachment. Why did her staffers have to shield her from reporters for 24 hours? Why didn’t she make an announcement on her official social media? Why didn’t she release a statement two weeks ago after her original vote for impeachment? Oh yeah, because Lyin’ Lucy is more concerned with making calculated political moves than delivering for her district.

(GA-07) Carolyn Bordeaux and Zahra Karinshak have joined the Trump-obsessed left and are now supporting the baseless impeachment of President Trump in bids to appease their extreme base in the crowded GA-07 Democratic primary. I guess they both forgot President Trump won GA-07 by 7 points in 2016, and polls show voters want nothing to do with impeachment…

(IA-01, 02) Yesterday, acting ICE Director Matthew Albence revealed the agency’s recent operation that arrested dozens of illegal immigrants with a record of child sex offenses, and highlighted the danger posed by sanctuary cities that protect such criminals. REMINDERAbby Finkenauer and Rita Hart voted to bring those same sanctuary cites to Iowa during their time in the state legislature. Why do they want child sex predators in Iowa?

(IA-01, 03) Abby Finkenauer and Cindy Axne have both endorsed the socialists’ impeachment efforts. Couple of reminders: Both Finkenauer’s and Axne’s districts voted for President Trump in 2016 and impeachment remains incredibly toxic among voters.

(IA-03)Cindy Axne is having a tough time playing to the middle in her pro-Trump district. Liberals in IA-03 are furious that Axne has not signed onto the Green New Deal and its socialist agenda, prompting hundreds to protest her Des Moines office. This is yet another example of the impossible task that Trump district Democrats are facing: sign on to their party’s toxic socialist agenda, or alienate the liberal base they’ll need to turn out in November.

(KS-03) In case you missed it, Sharice Davidscouldn’t decide whether she was more afraid of Nancy Pelosi or Kansas voters, as she endorsed impeaching President Trump without actually saying the word “impeachment.” Davids is a coward and a fraud and will be voted out of office in 2020!

(MI-06) While Michigan prepares for a government shutdown, socialist State Rep. Jon Hoadley is focused on fundraising for his congressional campaign. Budget negotiations are at a standstill, with Gov. Whitmer holding out for her .45 cent gas tax increase (which Jon supports). But Jon, who is the House Appropriations Vice Chair, doesn’t care – as long as he can raise a few extra bucks for his next political move!

(MI-08, 11) Elissa Slotkin and Haley Stevens caved to their rabid socialist bases to back impeachment. Their decision to appease the radical left’s hatred of President Trump over representing the views of Michiganders will surely be the death of their careers in Congress!

(Minnesota) Minnesota DFL Party Chairman Ken Martin, who employs anti-military folks who refer to the USS Minneapolis-St. Paul as a “murder boat” and call Marines “murderers,” is hilariously demanding an apology on behalf of Elizabeth Warren after she was called a socialist (which she is). Quick question: Has Ken demanded his fellow DFLer and anti-Semite Ilhan Omar apologize for accusing Jews of “hypnotizing the world”? And does Ken still have William Davis on the payroll over there?

(MN-02)Angie Craig must have whiplash from all the times she’s flip-flopped on impeachment! Last week, in order to fend off a primary opponent, Craig sent unhinged liberal activist Richard Painter her townhall transcript where she voiced her “full support” for an impeachment investigation. But, over the weekend, Angie flipped on her original “full support” statement. Ultimately, she sided with her rabid base to support impeaching President Trump in a district he carried in 2016. Nice knowin’ ya, Angie!

(MN-03) Dean Phillips is kissing his reelection prospects goodbye, giving into his rabid, impeachment-obsessed socialist base to back impeachment. Phillips, who represents a true swing district, is largely ignoring the majority of voters in CD3 who want nothing to do with impeachment. So much for all that campaign talk about “representation begins with listening.”

(NJ-03, 11) Andy Kim and Mikie Sherrill both committed political suicide this week after joining the socialist Democrats in their quest to impeach President Trump. By choosing to support the rabid left’s obsession with impeachment, both New Jersey Dems have proven to voters they have no interest in delivering on the issues most important to them. Good luck winning reelection!

(NM-02) Someone call in the blood hounds! Xochitl Torres Small is totally MIA on her party’s insane attempt to impeach President Trump. When reporters attempted to clarify her position, this was the result. Torres Small owes it to her constituents to tell them where she stands on her party’s insane effort to impeach the President of the United States. But the fact is, she’s too much of a coward to stand up to Nancy Pelosi and her gang of rabid socialists, and she’s not fit to represent New Mexico.

(NY-18, 19) Despite representing districts President Trump won in 2016, Sean Patrick Maloney and Antonio Delgadojumped on the socialist Democrats’ baseless efforts to impeach President Trump. Their decisions make it clear they are more interested in appeasing the radical left and their hatred of President Trump than delivering on the issues their constituents care about.

(NY-24) Francis Conole has joined the rest of the socialist Democrats in their rabid quest to impeach President Trump. Conole’s decision to support impeachment makes it clear he’s right in line with the Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wing of the party. I guess that’s what happens when you’re in a brutal primary race to the left!

(NV-03, 04) This week Susie Lee and Steven Horsford threw away their moderate talking points and joined their fellow socialist Democrats on their crazed quest to impeach President Trump.REMINDER:President Trump won Nevada’s Third Congressional District in 2016, and Horsford’s district continues to trend Republican.

(PA-08) Matt Cartwright joined the rest of the socialist Democrats in their baseless quest to impeach President Trump and can say goodbye to his reelection chances. In a district President Trump won by ten points, Matt Cartwright has decided to stand with the likes of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and the socialist Democrats rather than Pennsylvania voters. Risky move!

(SC-01)Fake Engineer Joe Cunningham continues to get slammed in the press for his wife’s complaint that their taxpayer-funded health care doesn’t cover their marriage counseling. One constituent wrote Cunningham’s wife’s rant was “self-entitled,” and that “His family has a taxpayer-funded health care plan that would probably cost most of us at least $2,000 a year.” Yikes! Not a good look, especially since he continues to accept dark money after decrying it on the campaign trail…

(TX-07) Lizzie Fletcher came out of hiding this week and announced she supports the socialist Democrats’ wild-eyed drive toward impeachment. Clearly, Fletcher’s hatred of President Trump has clouded her judgment, as impeachment remains incredibly unpopular among voters. Fletcher’s decision to ignore her constituents and support impeachment will mark the end of her short, unaccomplished political career!

(TX-10) The three ring socialist circus that is the TX-10 Democrat primary has rallied around their party’s dive over the impeachment cliff, with Shannon HutchesonPritesh Gandhi and Mike Siegel all coming out in support. The three socialists seem to be so caught up in sprinting to the left for the primary that they’ve forgotten they need to run a general election campaign in a district President Trump won by 9 points in 2016. No matter which socialist the Democrats nominate in the 10th Congressional District, they’ve all effectively rendered themselves unelectable next November!

(TX-10) In case you missed it, TX-10 candidate Mike Siegel wrote an op-ed about his support for the oil-and-gas-killing Green New Deal… in Texas. No NRCC comment needed! Click HERE to read.

(TX-21)  After months of ineptly dodging questions on impeachment, Wendy Davis finally confirmed that she stands with her fellow socialists on impeaching President Trump. Since Wendy seems to have forgotten, she is running for Congress in a district President Trump won by 10 points and impeachment remains incredibly unpopular nationwide!

(TX-23) TX-23 candidate Gina Jones joined her fellow DC socialists in calling for the impeachment of President Trump this week. Jones claims that the dud of a whistleblower complaint released this morning was the straw that broke the camel’s back and got her on board with the excruciatingly unpopular impeachment push. Texans want nothing to do with impeaching President Trump, but Gina Jones has always taken her cues from her hometown DC Democrats, so of course she was going to back impeachment!

(TX-24) Disgraced war profiteer Kim Olson endorsed the “climate strike” held by schoolchildren this week. Olson praised the climate brats who demanded “climate justice” along with a ban on fossil fuels, including oil and natural gas. FYI: Olson’s support for a socialist agenda probably isn’t the best message for a candidate running in Texas…

(TX-32) Colin Allred inched ever-closer toward jumping off the impeachment cliff this week, threatening to impeach President Trump if his demands are not met. Just a reminder, impeachment remains grossly unpopular among voters. Maybe Allred should tone down the tough guy act and try listening to his constituents for a change.

(VA-02) Elaine Luriacaved to the Trump-obsessed socialist Democrats’ baseless efforts to impeach President Trump.  The Congresswoman, who represents a district President Trump won, is ignoring the majority of voters who want nothing to do with impeachment. So much for being a moderate!

(VA-07) Yesterday, while Abigail Spanberger was busy impeaching the President, she chose to announce her reelection campaign. REMINDER: Abigail represents a district President Trump won in 2016 and her support of baseless impeachment surely won’t help her reelection chances in 2020. Is this just odd timing… or perfect timing? We’ll let you decide…

(WI-03) Liberals in WI-03 are fuming over Ron Kind’s failure to support the Green New Deal. Kind’s refusal to support his party’s socialist agenda prompted hundreds to protest his office in La Crosse (again). These protesters will certainly be supporting Kind’sprimary opponent in November, leaving Ron to beg moderates (whose support he’s already lost) to reconsider. Ron’s struggles underscore the impossible task of Trump district Dems: back their party’s socialist agenda and lose moderates, or refuse and lose their liberal base. Miraculously, Ron has already managed to do both!

News & Notes

GOP campaign chief: Backing impeachment will cost House Dems their majority in 2020

The chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman on Tuesday warned that backing the impeachment of President Trump will cost Democrats their House majority in the 2020 election.

“For the past three years, the socialist Democrats have been obsessed with impeaching the president and backfilling in the reason after the fact,” Rep. Tom Emmer (R-Minn.) said in a statement.

“They have become so radicalized by their hatred of President Trump that they are willing to plunge the nation into a constitutional crisis based on secondhand gossip.”

“Make no mistake about it: backing impeachment will cost the Democrats their majority in 2020.” READ.

Trump impeachment inquiry could be risky for Jersey’s rookie Democrats

WASHINGTON — A survey released Wednesday explained why most of New Jersey’s rookie House members were reluctant to support impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump: Their voters didn’t want them to.

In the Monmouth University Poll, only 30 percent of voters in the six congressional districts that were represented by Republicans in 2016 supported impeachment, with 65 percent opposed.

Five of those six districts now are represented by Democrats, including four elected in 2018. Only one Republican representative, Chris Smith, remains in office.

“The bottom line is that most voters in districts that flipped last year want to see Trump turned out of office in 2020,” said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute. “But at the time of the poll, they did not want Congress to get bogged down in an impeachment process.” READ.
