Axne and Finkenauer silent on dark money backers

Liberal dark money group House Majority Forward is spending big in Iowa to prop up Cindy Axne and Abby Finkenauer after their decision to join their socialist party’s impeachment effort, and suddenly the two embattled House freshmen have gone silent.

Axne and Finkenauer had previously been very outspoken on their anti-dark-money stances, but appear to have no issues now that it is being spent on their behalf, with $127,000 being spent to prop up Axne and $69,000 being spent to prop up Finkenauer.

So what’s changed? Could it be that Cindy Axne and Abby Finkenauer only consider dark money a problem when it doesn’t benefit them?
